Ryan recently medically retired after serving as Police Officer for 13 years at a suburb city in Los Angeles County. During his tenure, he worked his first 5 years in patrol and then spent the rest of his career in Special Investigations on a small team (Crime Suppression Unit) comprised entirely of plain clothes SWAT Officers whose primary duty was to surreptitiously apprehend armed and/or violent fugitives.
As a member of his SWAT Team, Ryan was assigned as a sniper. He developed and brought many modern changes to his sniper cadre which included progressive TTP's and outfitting his team with new optics and ammunition. Another one of his duties was to facilitate and instruct a variety of tactical modalities, as well as lead training within his team and other SWAT and Patrol Teams throughout the Southern California area. Ryan also has instructed the range staff at Mission Ridge Range and Academy in San Antonio, Texas and helped them develop their own Precision Rifle Program at their academy.
After retirement, Ryan has found himself eager to share his knowledge, experience, mistakes, and lessons learned to those who are still serving so they can have the mindset, confidence, and skills to go home at the end of their day. More specifically, Ryan's end goal is to bridge the training gap between tactical teams and patrol through his art of teaching and networking with other like-minded professionals. He is still active with CA POST certifications (AICC), training as a student with other professionals, and maintains his memberships in the National Tactical Officers Association, California Association of Tactical Officers and American Sniper Association.
This instructor is keeping his identity hidden from public view which should be respected in today’s current climate in Law Enforcement.
This instructor has been a Police Officer for 29 years at a major metropolitan city in Southern California. He started his career in patrol and was quickly promoted into C.R.A.S.H. in 1999, which was known as a legendary gang suppression detail during this time. Shortly after, he promoted again into his agency's special operations group which is comprised of the city's elite professionals whose primary function is crime suppression, serving search warrants, conducting surveillance, dignitary protection, riot control, and many more tactical related duties.
In 2016, he then transitioned into his agency's full-time SWAT Team which is where he is currently assigned. His duties within the team are sniper, explosive breacher, and a firearms instructor. Between the flow of call-outs and team training, he still finds time to teach Law Enforcement officers across the nation in several tactical modalities such as Hostage Rescue Operations.
This instructor brings a plethora amount of knowledge and experience to the table and his mentorship and advice to Law Enforcement are second to none.
